I am doing a lot of modification of a spreadsheet - selecting cells , editing cells etc. . The spreadsheet has 16 worksheets - ie. covers a year's worth of expenditure and income - so is fairly complex . It seems like a frequent back up process operating but is obviously not - there is no indication of this occurring . This leaves a task issue as a possible cause - ie. a task going to sleep - being locked up temporarily by another process - such as temporary priority inversion . If a synchronous architecture is used then task problems are not unusual - by the nature of the structure they are designed into the structure and they have to be worked around . The program may be being woken up by some sort of watchdog process .
