The problem is where the note is displayed when hovering with the mouse, not when activating "Show Note". Excel displays the note on the visible part of the screen in any case when hovering with the mouse, even if the note is defined to be off the screen. Calc, however, displays the note off the screen if that's where it was placed when adding the note. You can see this in cell O24 of both attached files. Whether this is a bug or not is arguable, however Calc does not behave like Excel in this case, and many users view this as an error.
