The paragraph option affects the colour behind the OOo highlighting. Using MS Office Word 2003 (11.8215.8122) SP2, and OOo 2.2.0 on Windows. Perhaps the MS exporter in OOo should ask the user which colours they want as Shading and which as Highlighting?
