If I understand this correctly, somewhere during that paste operation, the unicode names of the styles are converted to ascii and then back, causing non ascii characters to become '?'. Now in your patch you guess the original name by seeing how many '?' you have and where the spaces are. I have no doubt that this works for your language, but it will fail for other languages with non ascii characters. So this issue must be fixed at the point that wrongly converts the style names.
