The OpenDocument file format needs to be extended for this important feature. The corresponding proposal is already accepted by OASIS OpenDocument TC and the extension will make into the next OpenDocument file format version - this is planned to be 1.2. Thus, the earliest date, when this feature can be available is the OOo version, which supports the next OpenDocument file format version.
