In case the user applies the media player while JMF isn't installed, he doesn't
notified by OO that the media player requires JMF API and he has no idea why the
application doesn't work.

Here is the OO Help quotation:
On UNIX systems, the Media Player requires the Java Media Framework API (JMF).
Download and install the JMF files, and add the path to the installed jmf.jar to
the class path in Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - Java.
