Do you have some office application installed in Parallels?
There is a new feature in Parallels that allows you to open files from the
Finder straight in Parallels.
You can try selecting your files in the finder and from the "open with" pop-up
menu select the appropriate
app. Then click "Change all".
This is a problem with Parallels, not us.
