How about this patch to ask java itself for its JAVA_HOME instead of all the
layers of guesstimates around it, it would especially make it easy for e.g.
someone with gcj installed to just say "configure" and not get caught out later
on with the JAVA_HOME auto-detected as /usr 

What do you think ?
