I know that this is possible. But as I have written, the old cnp-sdk doesn't
install i386 packages on Sparc and v v. And noone has considered this as a bug.
It has never been decided how the GUI installer should behave in such cases.
This is a new feature by the GUI Installer. What's about the 'Desktop
Integration' packages? They are needless and shouldn't be installed! in this
case. Whats about the office start? Shouldn't we give some usefull information
when calling soffice of sparc packages on an i386 machine? Now you get something
like 'javaldx: cannot execute, pagein: cannot execute, soffice.bin: cannot
execute'.
