I am a bit worried about it because I don't fully understand what causes the problem, and the part of the code that I am affecting is in dbaccess, which is not part of the aquavcl01... This means (I think) either: 1) this issue is not unique to macport, or 2) the fix is a workaround that solves a problem that actually originates elsewhere in aquavcl01. It's also a bit fishy because I inserted code that, according to the comment above my code, should never be run.
