Hi ollihoo,
i can confirm the problem for Ubuntus own filepicker. However, you need to file
an issue in Ubuntus own Bugtracking system (Launchpad) for this. Ubuntu
apparently does a number of modifications to the application to better integrate
it into their desktop.
