Personally I think black looks quite sad for a poster with positive content/impression. In combination with the other two parts (especially the colorful left part) it might become an imbalance. But this can be up to everybody looking for such a poster. They may decide which poster to use (or modify it once more). With regard to the text vs. path issue: If someone wants to create a localized poster in her own language, she needs to modify the text. When converting the poster to EPS the text has to be changed to path, that's right.
