TL->sgauti, SBA: aside from confusing auto correction with spell checking I
think the issue why the following text or even next paragraph has the French
language is set is probably completely different:
It looks to me like all this is about is attribute propagation!

If you just do as you described it is normal behavior that the text that you
enter at the end of the current text (which is now set to French) continues with
the same attributes from the character before. Even if you start to writze a new
paragraph.

For example do as you did but be sure to not add a space or anything else after
the text "Je vais au marché", then set the last word to bold. If you continue to
write directly after "marché" the text will continue the bold attribute. Same
happens for language attributes and that is normal.

If you enter two paragraphs at once a French in the first line and e second
English one in the following paragraph and only then use the context menu to
change the language of the first paragraph you will see that the second will
still keep the English language attribute.

TL->SBA: If you two agree to my point of view above I would suggest to close
this issue since it's content is confusing and open a new one that addresses
only the topic that there should be some kind of information when the user
selects a language that is not supported.

BTW supported by what? Spell checking, hyphenation, thesaurus? All three of
them? We have languages where we don't have all three of them.
Also if you use the Format/Character dialog to change the language there is
already a hint for languages with spell check support. It is the check flag to
the left of the language entry.
