I have now reproduced the problem - it only happens with custom styles and when
the Regional Settings of your Windows system are set to "English" (I tried with
"English US"). It is not problem of the export from OOo - I also got the problem
in a document natively created in MS WOrd (see attachent).
Change the regional settings to "German (Germany)", open the document in MS Word
and update the TOC - see the TOC being displayed correctly...
