2007 -------
I obfuscated my spreadsheet and typed some dummy data. The behaviour remains.
Go to the first sheet and look at the first three columns (Name, Vorname,
Mat-Nr)
I marked the places where Calc inverted (parts of) what I typed during one of
these "lags".
I want to add that I had been using this spreadsheet before, but on another
machine (no dual core, Pentium M 1.3 GHz, 1,25GB RAM, XP SP2), where I never had
any trouble like this. I don't remember exactly which OO version I had been
using, I can only tell you that it probably was 2.0.x)

An important note: The lags do occur in those cells that are referred to
somewhere else. E.g., the columns I used to demonstrate the problem are refered
to by the "Namensliste" and "Ergebnisliste" sheets.

The problem is not so much that OO would get slower if the spreadsheet got
bigger (although I doubt that my spreadsheet qualifies as "big" by any means)...
Calc often behaves normally (i.e., fast), with lags occuring every now and then,
but then for several seconds. As you can see in the examples, the lags are long
enough to allow me to type several words, and lags usually only stop when I stop
typing.

One further note: When I notice the lag and continue typing (knowing that what I
type will probably be inverted) and then -- during the lag -- use cursor keys to
move to another cell (passing several other cells in between), the text I typed
is often not placed in the cell I typed it when the lag starts, but is "dropped"
somewhere in one of the cells I navigated over. At the same time the navigation
commands (which are delayed as well) are NOT inverted.
I hope this was clear. :-)
