Confirming. I've just installed 2.2.1 in an attempt to overcome a lockup
problem with multiple dialogs (Export to PDF, Insert Frame, etc - Writer
document frame loses focus, can be moved and resized but won't shut down).

When this didn't fix the problem I realised that a possible answer was offscreen
dialogs as I'd recently replaced one of my two monitors and altered the monitor
arrangement.

Recreating the user settings (C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application
Data\OpenOffice.org2) fixed the problem so I did a diff on the old and new
folders and noticed that Views.xcu in \user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office
had a Dialogs and TabDialogs sections (<node oor:name="Dialogs">) with what
looked like stored screen positions and that some of the XY coords were likely
to be outside of my currently active screens.

Removing the entire section <node oor:name="Dialogs"> from Views.xcu fixed the
problem (although for completeness TabDialogs should also probably be removed).
This also suggests that testing to confirm and fix the problem could be done by
manually editing Views.xcu for a known dialog id and setting the dialog position
outside of the current screen bounds.
