Hi there

I'm on Fedora 7 running OOo 2.2.1. In the spreadsheet component, I am trying to
enter units of measurement such as 'm', 'kg', 'MPa', 'kPa', etc. The default
settings for open office seem to me to be rather unsatisfactory in this
use-case.

To be specific, I use the Tools->Autocorrect dialog Options tab to turn off
'capitalise the first word of every sentence. Then I type in an empty cell the
character 'a' and press <enter>. The 'a' is capitalised even after I turn off
that option. 'kPa' is similarly capitalised to 'KPa', which means something
completely different.

Is this a platform-specific problem with Fedora 7, or is it a general problem
with OOo 2.2.1?

Cheers
JP
