i'm not sure i understand the technical aspects of this but i think it should be
that the style of the previous numbered list should be preserved.

1. pressing Shift-F12 changes second level into bullet type.
2. type text and insert other bulleted entries
3. pressing F12 on second level changes bulleted list into number AND continues
the previous numbered list on that level, so that it takes off from where the
numbered list was left - unless user restarts numbering.

i think it is also intuitive that this scheme be applied to all default
numbering styles on all levels. that is, to continue the numbered list until it
is restarted. right now, i do this by creating my own list style and assigning
it a hotkey (ctrl+shift+F12). that way, i can have a list, type anything in
between, and pressing the hotkey continues my numbered list given that i am
still on the same level.
