Are yousure Java works ? e.g. can you run Letter of Fax wizards ? Other test : can you please, in a Terminal, run javaldx in command line, and let us know if it works ? cd <install_dir>/OpenOffice.org\ 2.3.app/Contents/MacOS ./javaldx -> should return the path to JAVA_HOME, and if something is wrong, an error.
