Open Office seems to be vulnerable to this installation malfunction, which
results from the corruption of the Open Office entry within the windows
installer database. The solution is to delete this entry. Follow these steps,
and you will have no problem updating Open Office.

1. Go to your favourite search engine, type in "windows install clean up"
2. Download the programme from a trustworthy source, intall it, run it
3. Look for the Open Office entry in the programme's list, highlight it, click
"remove", exit programme.
