------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Mar 13 21:20:59 -0800 2005 ------- The document I attached is correctly formatted as you observed. This issue was submitted because of the fun it takes to get to this end result. Everything stated here behaves the same in 1.1.4 and 1.9.79 in Win98SE. There is one extra hitch in 1.9.79 under SuSE 9.1 I have concluded that part of the problem was learning how to use the styles correctly. However, there are certain behaviors, one of which is demonstrated here, that certainly complicate the learning process. Open the Page Style control panel for the "First Page" style. In the Organizer tab, change Next Style from "Right Page" to "Left Page". Close the panel and update links. Observe that the page number in the page following the first page is now empty. I believe this is because the page offset is -2 and a negative page number is meaningless, but I can't figure out how to display what is already set so I'm working from memory. Return the First Page style Organizer Next Page style back to "Right Page" and update links. What I see is that the pages are now numbered 1,3,5,6,7,8,9,... But, WAIT! Save the document and re-open it. Now, the pages are all numbered consecutively again. The above is in Win98. The only difference in SuSE 9.1, 1.9.79 (only) is that there is an extra, blank page inserted after the First Page. This extra page has the Header and Footer, but no body content. The page numbering behavior is similar except the numbering is 1,3,5,7,8,9,10, et. seq. To clarify, I don't have 1.1.4 installed on Linux. You ask me to explain what I expect. Let's start with not having to save and reopen the file in order to see the (possibly correct) results of a change. Once that behavior is tamed, figuring out the rest of what is going on should be a walk in the park. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
