------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 5 19:32:29 +0000 2007 ------- Using CUPS on Linux (which is most of the time the case), informations about the printers and printers themselves are not updated (in the print dialog). You need to restart all OO.o applications running to see new printers. This means that network printers automatically added by CUPS when network servers are detected (because you just connected, or a server started) don't show up in OO.o. This can be really annoying, because restarting the apps may be boring/long/impossible (ongoing work). Thus, you can't use the major feature of auto-installation of network printers. Likewise, when you add a CUPS printer, you need to restart OO.o. When using the fast launch applet, closing the apps is not enough: you need to restart the applet too (really long). So it looks like OO.o only checks for printers when started from scratch. So please add a way to update the printer infos, via an automatic notification from CUPS (like GNOME does currently very well) or at least a "Refresh" button easier to implement but *really* useful and needed ;-) Thanks! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
