Extension can make OOo unstable or behave strangle if
1. they not only use UNO API, for example link with office libraries, such as
VCL. These libraries may become incompatible.
2. they neglect protocols when using the UNO API, for example, disposing the
context.
3. they change the configuration in an illegal manner
4. they crash.
Case #1 to #3 cannot be fixed with any reasonable effort. This would require
"monitoring" all actions performed by the extensions.
This leaves #4. Running extensions in separate processes may allow to monitor if
they crash.
This could be an option.
