This issue still stands in OOo 2.3.0 on Linux (installed via rpm).
Open table in edit mode; select a field, change field name, change field length,
click save. Dialog pops-up with "warning" "should the column instead be deleted
and the new format appended"? Chosing "no" still means that the column name,
size are changed and all column content is deleted.
This deletion still appears to ignore save states. So choosing to "discard" at
program close still means results of this error persist.
