User drking changed the following: What |Old value |New value ================================================================================ CC|'' |'drking' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Oct 25 05:51:29 +0000 2007 ------- drensink: "Changing this would probably break some compatibility with Excel." OOo is not compatible here anyway. For example Excel =COUNTIF(A1:A5,"re*") matches red, rend, retire. Importing this into Calc -> =COUNTIF(A1:A5;"re*"). Without regex selected none of these match. With regex selected they all match, but so does rut, rally etc. OOo doesn't do MS wildcards, nor does it try to convert wildcards into regex on import. To be honest, for me the disadvantage of having yet another function to confuse the user outweighs any benefit.... --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
