I tested this a little bit more and found out that it is the tab-stop position that is messing Word layout. It seems that Word can't handle it if the tab-stop position is more than the column width. If I change the tab-stop position to the column width, then Word displays the columns correctly. Because of this I think that issue 59347 is not related.
