Note that it might happen even after a minor update. For example, an update of Sun JRE from the version 1.5.0_update12 to 1.5.0_update13 if they are installed into a full versioned directories (JPackage style...) I'll attach a possible fix. It starts the autodetection only when it is enabled. I did not want to hide the problem when the user configured any Java yourself. A better solution would be to do it always and inform user about the change.
