NOTE ELEVEN (another issue): After working around NOTE TEN, compilation
continued until dmake reported a signal 11 while builing the project
'slideshow'.

So, what I did is I went back and just reconfigured without '--enable-debug'. I
think this option is not useful on Solaris 10/Studio 10 at this point in time.
After this, compilation went smoothly, with the only problem being that I had to
work around the gnome-set-default-application issue in scp2.

IN CONCLUSION: All but one of the issues above were caused by using
--enable-debug during configure. The remaining issue, NOTE NINE, I think is
still due to a bug in Studio 10 and needs to be worked around, for now. It
appears that the gnome-set-default-application issue is already addressed in
later milestones according to some newsgroups, so it seems future builds on
Solaris 10 should go relatively smoothly.

Another point of interest, regarding NOTE TWO, is that using the Solaris
Companion CD (in the newer 3/05 distribution) along with packages from
Blastwave.org makes for an easier-to-live-with build environment. The Companion
CD still includes Bison 1.35, for example, so Solaris users don't have to worry
about the additional packages from SunFreeware. With the Blastwave packages,
however, I had to force --with-perl-home=/usr/perl5, in order to use Solaris'
Perl distribution.
