Using a function like:

=CONCATENATE(PROPER(A2);B2)

If A2 is an empty field Calc crashes.
Documents that have this situation can not be opened. They enter in a crash
loop.

Please note that =CONCATENATE(A2;B2) A2 is an empty field works fine . It only
happens using proper.
