I installed latest Indiana Developer Preview release from
http://opensolaris.org/os/.

When I try to install OOo 2.3 via the Java installer on such a machine, I
noticed that the calculation of free disk space seem to fail. I got an error
message after selecting "Next" in the installer dialog of selcting components,
telling me about none sufficiant discspace.

Required disc space: 491916 kB
Available disc space: 3708 kB

Indeed there is enough free disc space in /opt/ where I tried to install. here
are the results of "df -k ." at /opt/

bash-3.2$ df -k .
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
zpl_slim/opt 11051799 3708 11048091 1% /opt

So it looks to me the values of "Used" and "Available" are mixed up somehow in
the Java installer process of OOo.
