checked with both a GCC 4.2.1 and some GCC 4.3 snapshot, and in both cases
building sal/osl/all/debugbase.cxx (on SRC680m236) produced a warning for
rtl/instance.hxx l. 329 (among other warnings) which was successfully removed by
modifying rtl/instance.hxx as discussed. No idea why your GCC version behaves
differently.
(And, by the way, I did not consider reassigning this issue back to you as
"useless": If it would have turned out that systematically adding braces around
empty else statements would have removed warnings for your builds, why not
should you then have taken on the work of adding those braces?)
