I confirm this issue.
Hunspell is enable to strip an entire word to replace it by another.

Another exemple (in french) :

aller (to go) is one the most irregular verb in french.

in the affix files:

SFX aA Y 6
SFX aA   aller      vais            aller
SFX aA   aller      vas             aller
SFX aA   aller      va              aller
SFX aA   er         ons             aller
SFX aA   er         ez              aller
SFX aA   aller      vont            aller

in the dictionary:
aller/aA

'allons' and 'allez' are recognized by the spellchecker, but not 'vais', 'vas',
'va', 'vont'
