User cloph changed the following: What |Old value |New value ================================================================================ CC|'' |'cloph' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Assigned to|kendy |vg -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Nov 24 18:23:18 +0000 2007 ------- What is a pity is that such a change breaks building for all builders, breaks building on tinderbox, etc and causes much problems that could have been avoided if that change would have been announced beforehand. And what is written in the last comment is a pity as well. If there has been an apparently non-public exchange that discusses the need for that change, at least the minutes or the results should be posted. Why the heck should TMP be necessary when it build years without an explicitly set variable? No matter what the answer is: An announcement would have helped to avoid loads of problems and frustration. And of course an announcement would have lead to a proper fix, instead of how it was done. Configure must be the place where TMP should be checked for. (And it is irrelevant that Sun doesn't use configure) Checking for TMP in build.pl additionally to configure: OK, be it. Not checking for TMP in configure but breaking because of it: Not OK. I hope I made my point clearly enough... --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
