To test this one can use the extension:
desktop/test/deployment/executable_content/hello.oxt
It contains an executable for linux,solaris and windows:
linux/hello
solaris/hello
windows/hello
The extension was zipped on windows so the executable attribute has gone. Check
this by unzipping the extension on Linux/Solaris. After installation the
executable attribute is set. If the extension is installed for the current user
then the corresponding user flag is set and if it is installed for all users
(share extension) then the flag is set for user, group and other.
This can be verified by looking into the directory where the Extension Manager
has unzipped the extension.
