Type a single paragraph, here's the text I used: This is a fish’s “dilemma” for ‘3’ types, not for 4' 10" long fish. 3. Style this paragraph as "Heading 1" 4. Create an Table of Contents Note: You should see this text in the ToC update 5. Export file to PDF Viola: The PDF will show spaces where the quote characters were. Maybe an encoding issue with the exported PDF? Note that printing to PS and converting to PDF preservers these characters. I suppose the ToC process is superfluous but that's how I discovered the err. Export to PDF converts right/left single/double quotes to spaces, regardless.
