I assemble this web page: http://www.co-counselling.org.uk/lists/fundates.html
using mail merge and an .odb database to give me clean strict xhtml code. I then
use <save as> text and save it as a .html file. When I do, a BOM gets added at
the beginning of the file, which is discouraged by http://validator.w3.org/.

There does not seem to be any way to prevent the BOM being added.
