I don't have an XP machine to test. I tested my Hebrew documents with various OOo versions also on XP and W2k. As far as I could notice related to this issue, I assume that the USPs of XP and W2k behave the same. The patch also fixes character placement when using expanded or condensed character spacing (This was quite unusable with Hebrew before). The only negative side effect is, that non-printing characters for blanks are not centered (as in word underline).
