If you click in 'Tools' on the rectangle of the symbol 'Insert object' there are no entries. A doubleclick creates a chart. If the Function of the symbol should be inserting an object. Then there must be after clicking on the rectangle symbols like in menu 'Insert-Object' (OLE-Object..., Plugin... and so on). I don't think that creating a chart is the mentioned function of this symbol.
