User hro changed the following: What |Old value |New value ================================================================================ Status|REOPENED |RESOLVED -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resolution| |WORKSFORME -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Jan 14 17:18:02 +0000 2008 ------- My mistake...this was a misunderstanding and I left this one on the CWS but it was already done. The user friendly description "OpenOffice.org Extension" was already fixed somewhere else and is on the master. Firefox simply displays the default value of a file extension key as the application name, what is definitely wrong. Firefox does so for all other file type it cannot display in place (.ODT, .ZIP or whatever). On Windows 3.x registry extension name forwarding wasn't used but starting from Win98 even .txt has a forward to "txtfile". The user friendly description of this file type "Star Office Extension" is indeed used by Firefox. Even if the name of the forward key would be "OpenOffice.org Extension Manager" this would be wrong (besides it would break the key versioning) because it does not describe an application but a file type. What should be used (and is used by the Windows Explorer and the Shell APIs) is the description resource text of the binary that is executed on the default shell command regsitry entry of the last forward. That firefox does not use this method may be because the multi platform code of firefox (compare to what firefox tells on Unix). So this might be a minor bug in Firefox but not with OpenOffice.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
