Select a drawing (a narrow one will work better.)
Copy a drawing and paste it into the text of a document such that the drawing
just fits above the top of the footer.
Right-click on the drawing and add a caption: the text of the caption should be
sufficiently long that the caption would extend over the entire footer and past
the bottom of the page.
Writer hangs.

To test this, it is advisable to keep building longer and longer caption strings
until the hang occurs. Since a narrow drawing will wrap the caption text more
quickly, it is better to use a narrow drawing.
