User jgribbin changed the following: What |Old value |New value ================================================================================ Status|CLOSED |UNCONFIRMED -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resolution|DUPLICATE | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 22 12:23:27 +0000 2008 ------- All well and good if we were only talking about mail accounts using SSL/TLS, but if you take another look at the screen print I included, it is also happening to me with standard pop/smtp accounts without secure access. Things seem to go haywire at the point where I tell it it needs authentication. If I don't authenticate, the test works fine. I'm starting to wonder if the problem is that I'm not logged into the Internet directly through a connection at my ISP. Thus requiring authentication and causing the problem. The office I work at uses a different ISP than I have personally. Part of the reason I included the screen print is because I don't discount the possibility I am doing something wrong in the setup. I figure you can probably glance at what I have there and tell me if I'm doing something wrong or not. The part of the screen print that shows gmail is grayed out because I am attempting to interface to my ISP account at clearwire in that attempt. It uses standard ports without SSL/TLS. I'll figure out how to vote tomorrow. Meanwhile, it would be nice if someone made it a little more obvious in the documentation that this doesn't work with secure access email. I only look like I like beating my head against the wall. :-) I'll see if I can't vote for that as well. Should I be here, or the bug you marked this as a duplicate of? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
