2008 -------
It is a frequently reported issue on the support forums that you have no control
on the imported data types. I know 5 different ways to import data into Calc
(not counting the clipboard). "Menu:Insert>Link to External Data..." is the only
method where I can not prevent "1-5" to be imported as date.
When I import the very same html-table via clipboard I can pre-set the offending
fields to number format "Text". Linking overrides my formatting.
