I've done some follow up testing, I've divided the tests into groups with respect to the examples in the initial report: Group A solom solemn Group B sandle sandal Group C sandles sandals These tests show other instances when the spell checker does not offer the correct suggestion. Group A ( Similar to solom-solemn) Incorrect/Correct * colom column * fatem fathom * fatam fathom Group B ( Similar to sandle-sandal) Incorrect/Correct * vandle vandal * hatrdo hatred * freedme freedom Group C (Similar to sandles-sandals) Incorrect/Correct * vandles vandal * bandtes bandits However, I've also found incorrect spellings (from the above A, B, C groups) which do offer the correct spelling suggestions. Group A * investmin investment Group B * bandte bandit * paddol paddle * drivna driven Group C * rabbtos rabbits * paddols paddles To work around this bug, using http://www.dictionary.com, may give the correct spelling suggestion.
