I still have several strange and annoying varable-problems. I use a standard
header with variables containing project information for many documents. The
advantage is that I have available complete project information for all standard
documents of a project with a simple “copy / paste”. But again and again those
formatting problems reappear and I see some numbers (mostly “0”) instead of the
required project information in the “show variable” fields.

Attached in my “testkit”you will find 2 folders “h” and “l” with similar sample
documents, each with a master document and a slave document. In a test I copied
/pasted the working “show variables” fields from “_inbetriebnahme_l.odt” to
“_inbetriebnahme_h.odt”, where only numbers were shown in the master document
view. Unfortunately, those pasted variables don't work either, even when I
integrate that slave document with the new variables into the master document
with the good working variable view for slave document “_inbetriebnahme_h.odt”.

Steps to reproduce:
1. open both master documents in folder “h” and folder “l” and go to heading
“Inbetriebnahme-Bericht”. Variable view in document from folder “h” should be
destroyed, variable view for documents in folder “l” should work fine.
2. open both documents “_inbetriebnahme_.odt” and copy /paste the range from
line above “Einsatz von”
to line below“Planer:” from “_inbetriebnahme_l.odt” to corresponding area in
document “_inbetriebnahme_h.odt” to replace those not working variable view
fields.
3. Close and save slave documents.
4. open “h.odm” and go to Heading “Inbetriebnahme – Bericht” of
“_inbetriebnahme_h.odt”
expected: variable view should now work
actual: still numbers will be shown.

to test whether the variables in the master document might be the reason for the
problem, no continue:

11. open “h.odm”
12. open Navigator
13. click on item “_inbetriebnahme.odt”
14. Insert file “_inbetriebnahme.odt_h” using the context menu
15. update all
16. go to Heading “Inbetriebnahme – Bericht” of “_inbetriebnahme_h.odt”
expected: variable view should now work
actual: still numbers will be shown.

Strange!
