------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Feb 16 13:54:18 +0000 2008 ------- Running an endless presentation on our public area info point, ooimpress aquires constantly memory ressources from the X11 server until "out of memory" (including swap) and causing Linux's oom-killer to shut the application down. Memory akquistion for a 5-slide presenation (without graphics/gimmicks) with a size of 400 kB is about 1 MB every 5 seconds. Shutting down ooimpress short before the "out of memory" situation causes Xorg to free all that memory and running sane from then on. That's reproducible. We could also see that memory akquisition does not happen at reentering the presentation loop but also while running one long presentation. Intensively tested with various system and software versions: Deiban etch, Debian lenny, Xorg 7.2, Xorg 7.3, OO 2.3.1, OO 2.0.4 to verify also tested with remote X server via DISPLAY=myotherX11host:0 and in OO's server mode as well as on desktop. Might be a hint to find the bug: In 2.0.4 (Debian etch's default OO), it was not the Xorg process consuming the memory, but the soffice.bin process itself with same phenomenology. Until bug fix we help ourselves presenting PDFs instead of ODPs. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
