Process - fairly quick succession Highlight a word (with double click) cut it (ctrl-X) Move left one word (ctrl-leftArrow) paste The window hangs. I posted a very similar issue to you some months ago when it was clear because Writer was adjusting the display lines by a very small amount and would hang if it hadn't finished this process before pasting. This visible screen adjustment is no longer there, but the hang still happens. This is extremely repeatable. The PC is reasonably high spec, 2Gb of RAM, 400Gb disk, XP professional, build 2600 SP2. I have two fairly large documents open in Writer windows, another large-ish application open, and FireFox, these are necessary; the two windows docs are translated documents, the big app is an electronic translator showing the original and it's own translation. Incidentally I have had to re-establish this login id since it seems to have disappeared since I last used it some months ago. I hope this helps.
