Debugging into it also suggests that the preview is in fact the problem here: When the document is loaded, this is done with macros enabled. Now when the form is completely opened, the "preview" strikes, in that the document is loaded again, this time with macros disabled (else, potential on-load macros would fire in the preview). Effectively, this means that since the form *is* loaded already, only its macro execution is disabled.
