Apologies is this is already logged somewhere else, I did try to search for
similar sounding issues (anything mentioning font substitutions) but couldn't
see anything which looked related.

I was just testing Ooo 2.4.0rc4 on Intel Linux from the
OOo_2.4.0rc4_20080307_LinuxIntel_install_en-US.tar.gz archive and spotted a
difference in behaviour compared to 2.3.1

In OOo 2.3.1 when displaying a document which contains glyphs in the 'wingding'
this gets substituted on screen for something which contains at least some of
the right symbols. On 2.4.0rc4 they seem to be substituted by characters from
some other (default?) font. It looks to me like a sans-serif mono-spaced font
but I can't easily guess which one.

On printing both 2.3.1 and 2.4.0 do the same substitution into OpenSymbol - well
one does it into OpenSymbolFID145HGSet1 and the other into
OpenSymbolFID162HGSet1 but that is probably just the variation because of the
share/fonts/truetype/opens___.ttf files included I assume. Visually both
printouts look the same to me.

[ Actually Ooo2.4.0rc4 includes TimesNewRoman in the generated ps while 2.3.1
didn't, but that may just be to avoid using Times-Roman as a substiutution
(since we do have the extra ttf fonts) ]

I hope I got the Priority right, I certainly don't think this is important
enough to delay the release.
