The programme automatically does NOT add a line break between words that it
recognises as formulae. Therefore, if one word ends in punctuation and the next
word starts with punctuation, it makes one, big virtual word, and that word is
often so long that the programme places a line break before it, which leaves a
big gap at the end of the previous line. This happens all the time if you us any
of the parenthetical citation styles in the Humanities and Sciences (at a
university). For example:

"Cheese is tastey" (Bickleson 456).

That's a quotation followed by the name of the speaker/writer and the page
number from the original text. OOo automatically joins the last word of the
quotation and the first word of the parenthetical reference.

I need a way to turn that feature off globally. It should be in "Tools -
Options" somewhere, and there should be a way to over-ride that global toggle in
individual documents, if necessary. The upshot should be that I can effectively
turn it off forever, but turn it one again in specific circumstances.

Alternatively, this toggle could be in the styles, but it would be easier if it
were just a global toggle.
