I can restart OOo and it seems fine, then after a while working with other applications, I come back to OOo which has multiple docs open (writer and/or calc) and it pins CPU at 100%... If I switch to another desktop, everything else is still snappy; but returning to the OOo desktop takes about a minute++ to repaint the screen. On the other hand, if I select another app on the same desktop and re-select OOo, those repaints take about 10-15 secs. Switching to another desktop and back causes the long repaint again, so it seems to me to be related to desktop v. app switching; but that's just an impression I can't quantify yet.
